The other day, in the middle of that revolting month end
a lady came into the office and proceeded to yell her head off at me
Now, this was my fault, she had made an appointment to view a couple of houses
and I had been unable to line it up with the tenants
and, somehow, in all the fuss, I had misplaced her phone number so couldn't ring her and cancel
Anyway, she went off!
At the top of her voice, red faced and indignant....dribbling and foaming at the mouth and stuff!
At me!
While I was sitting there, looking concerned and chastised, very professionally of course, having poo poured on my head I thought miserably...
"Lady, if only you knew......"
whilst feeling rather sorry for myself.....
So, my next thought was that maybe she had something really awful going on in her life too...
...and maybe her yelling abuse at me had helped her in some way, to see a little bit clearer for the rest of the day....
...and that was okay by me.....
....but sheesh!
I really wanted to get up and punch her in the nose for a minute there :)

I should think you handled this as well as anyone could, and I respect you for it.
You acted much better than I probably could. You're obviously a big hearted person to consider what might be going on in her life and let it slide and not get you all riled up!
Oh man, I know that you are looking at the situation the right way - you don't know what happened in her life 10 minutes before she walked in the door! I know - I say that all the time. HOWEVER, it doesn't give someone the right to make someone else feel bad. You and I have both had shit in our lives and I don't think either one of us yells and makes another person feel bad!
Well, it is the weekend now. I say, forget about her and have a lovely weekend!
Okay..I take back what I said! I HAVE occassionally gone wonky on someones head! But that doesn't make it right!
There - I have confessed. Now I feel better. Besides, I probably have blogged about losing it on more than one occassion! But I'm not going to do it ever again!
You are growing! Not too many people would have even imagined what was going on inside the other persons shoes, heart, or brain at a time like that. I'm sorry somebody felt it necessary to use you as a toilet. But, I am happy that you put principles before personalities. xxx ;)
